NJ BOARD OF ELECTRICAL EXAMINERS APPROVES LOCAL 164 COURSES - (1/12/2005)

After submiting Local 164's journeyman skill improvement courses to the New Jersey Board of Electrical Examiners for review over six months ago, we finally received notification that ten courses have been approved for continuing education credit. The ten courses approved and the number of credit hours earned for each course are: Confined Space - Part I (4 hours); Confined -Space Part II ( 16 hours); CPR ( 10 hours); OSHA 10 or 30 Hour ( 10 hours); Electrical Grounding ( 21 hours); Fire Alarms ( 18 hours); Motor Controls Basic ( 21 hours); Motor Controls Advanced ( 19 hours); National Electrical Code ( 12 hours); Pipe Bending ( 18 hours). The following Local 164 Instructors have been approved to teach one or more of these courses: President J. David Milazzo, Carl Fry, Leo Gilligan, Steve Krimsky, David C. Milazzo, Richard Paredes, DJ Solleder, & Ted Warnet.

Having Local 164 journeyman courses approved by the Board of Electrical Examiners means that members who hold a N.J Electrical Contractors license can take any of the approved courses and get full credit toward license renewal.
